WHO WE ARE

So, Who's Behind Core Ideas?
VERY committed communication strategists.
We know we can't save the world—although we will never stop trying—but we can help you save the day when you're up against a
critical keynote, a tough run-in with a reporter or a prickly earnings call.
Meet the Principals
We've earned our stripes in a variety of disciplines—as Emmy-award winning media pros, former producers, as PR veterans, as
reporters and creative strategists. And we've spent our careers in real world, working laboratories where we created and tested
messages for critically discerning audiences. We'll share the tricks and secrets taught to professional speakers and reporters, as
well as techniques learned from living "in the trenches."
Harriet Meth is an expert in media, messaging and managing issues.
A six-time Emmy winning broadcast TV news producer, for the past 15 years she has translated her insights about messaging, stories and issues into practical guidance and best practices as a trusted media advisor and interview coach. Harriet works with marquee-name CEO’s and CFO’s on a regular basis for quarterly earnings calls and other high-profile engagements. She has guided her clients through interviews on CNBC, 60 Minutes and CNN as well as conversations with the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, Business Week and Wall Street analysts. Harriet was a producer for CBS and ABC Network news, Executive Producer for programming for WCBS-TV New York and a Director for Entertainment Tonight. She also received the Gold Camera Award from the International Film and Video Festival for her A&E Network production, The Living Room Campaign, an insider's view on political messaging and packaging. She speaks frequently to companies about her two big passions: becoming a thought leader in today’s soapbox environment and how to create relevant business stories. Harriet is a lifetime member of the Directors Guild of America and the Public Relations Society of America. Her musings on messaging and credibility can be found at Messaged to Deaf.
Loraine Antrim is a sales master. Yet she has never sold a product.
What she does sell is the belief that communication is THE currency in business. A former college instructor, Loraine is co-founder of Core Ideas Communication and is a nationally known communication strategist, motivational speaker and executive coach. Her message is straightforward and powerful—it’s not your resume that opens doors to the CXO suite–it’s your mouth. She is passionate about empowering companies to sell their value story and differentiate. Loraine has long-standing relationships with senior executives from Fortune 500 companies and has enabled them to craft compelling stories that sell product and communicate the strength of their brands as well as prepare them for internal speaking events and international conferences. A former vice president of HM Productions, she has been a participant in the Corporate Communications Program at Arcadia University and is a member of The National Press Club, The International Speech Communication Association, The American Communication Association, The International Association of Business Communicators, The National Speech Communication Association and the International Communication Association. As one client said, “Loraine is the Mike Ditka of communication coaches. She doesn’t coddle your ego and tell you your 120-slide deck looks great. She drives you hard and gets results.” She shares her insights into leadership thinking on her blog, The CXO Mindset and musings on personal branding at Personal Branding for Professionals.
